Coach Ohri celebrates the JV win!

On the road against South Lakes, the Statesmen LAX squads played to a hard-earned split. In the opener our JV Statesmen extended their amazing winning streak again, moving to 4-0 on the year. In the nightcap our Varsity squad ran into that monster Seahawks offense we've been hearing about so much this year.

(Photo caption? OK, so Coach Ohri lost his hat earlier in the game, but it sure was nice to see him finish with a smile. :-)

JV Game - The JV Lacrosse Statesmen won 5-2 over the Seahawks on a damp and drizzly night at South Lakes. We saw scores by Steven White (twice), Sam Mencarini, and a great breakaway score by defenseman Chris Newcomb. This was a full team victory with all our players contributing on the field. The JV Statesmen are now 4-0 on the season.

Varsity Game - The Seahawks jumped out to a 5-1 lead over the Statesmen as we opened up a dreary night at South Lakes. Marshall converted on a couple more scoring chances, but it was the South Lakes offense that really dominated tonight. (The Seahawks' high-flying offense has put up some monster numbers this year. 18 against Wakefield last weekend, and they even scored 7 in a loss to Herndon.) South lakes kept up the pressure all night, and the ball was on the wrong side of the field a lot.

Marshall scoring came from Pat Findaro (2 goals) and Aria Kavyani (1 goal). The final score was 11-3.

Thursday night, the Statesmen come back home for a Varsity-only night against Stone Bridge. It'll be hard fought all the way - come on out and support your Marshall Statesmen! Marshall Pride!

But it was a long, long night. The Seahawks offense has been really strong this year ...

... which kept our defensemen busy all night. We played hard. We never let up.
But South Lakes got the W.
