Sophomore attacker Sam Mencarini
cuts sharp to the goal

{Varsity writeup is here. JV Pictures are below)

Another gorgeous night for lacrosse, and the Statesmen came out like gangbusters.

The first quarter score in the Varsity game was something like 5-0 and I think the score at halftime was 8-1. The rest of the game wasn't quite as high-scoring as the first half, but it was exciting and hard fought all night long.

GREAT hitting, GREAT defense, TERRIFIC goalie work, and man we were hustling hard on every single play. View From The Stands had a terrific time out there at Jimmy Miller stadium tonight. (Thanks, everyone!)

The picture at left shows Sophomore attacker Sam Mencarini, cutting sharply to the goal with a middie trying to block the lane. Sam was everywhere tonight - a roving blur to everyone except our roving photographer, Mrs. Newcomb! (Click on the image for a larger view of the un-cropped photo.)

Next Monday we're on the road against Woodson. The Cavs have a good squad and this is gonna be a challenge.
Be there! Marshall Pride!
